Mediterranean Tapas & Beer Tasting
About the event:
Join Tipple & Ramble, The Simple Gourmet Kitchen and Topa Topa Brewing Company for an evening of Mediterranean-inspired tapas, local home-brewed beer and unique gift ides.
Executive Chef, Taji Marie, has created a seasonal small plates menu and Topa Topa Brewing Company will be pouring their hand-crafted beer.
This is a mix-and-mingle event with five passed tapas, a mediterranean dip bar and desserts. We invite you to stroll around the store and/or make yourself comfortable at the community tables and in the lounge furniture on the heated patio.
Here's a look at the evening's menu:
Moroccan braised chicken
tender chicken, warm spices, saffron-wine sauce, creamy polenta
crispy eggplant with lamb ragu & herbed yogurt
fried eggplant, slow-cooked lamb, molasses, chive yogurt
smokey turkey meatballs with sweet pomegranate glaze
tender turkey, smoked paprika, roasted garlic, sweet pomegranate glaze
butternut squash & ricotta phyllo cigars with harissa honey drizzle
flaky phyllo dough, roasted squash, house-made ricotta, spicy honey
swiss chard fritters with whipped feta
bright greens, dill, mint, salty feta, zataar
Mediterranean dip bar with
smokey eggplant dip with pomegranates
silky hummus with buttered pine nuts, olives & herbs
caramelized carrot, rosemary & feta spread
assorted seasonal vegetables, fresh bread & flatbread
meyer lemon mousse shots
creamy tart mousse, fresh whipped cream, soft cardamom gingersnaps
About the beer:
Topa Topa Brewing Company is a small craft brewery that believes in the power of good vibes and great beer.
They will be pouring their Saison -- a lower ABV beer with a floral, peppery background with hints of lemon and citrus. This beer finishes dry, is very effervescent and will pair perfectly with the Mediterranean flavors of the menu.
Topa Topa Brewing Company is currently serving small-batch homebrew. You will be tasting beer from their pilot program. They are in the process of opening a production facility and small tasting room on Thompson Ave. in Ventura, with plans to expand to Ojai with another tasting room. Their brewmaster, Casey Harris, is returning home to the region after a tenure at Stone Brewing Company in San Diego to help with their mission to create unique, quality beers while doing as little enviornmental harm as possible.
First time at a GATHERING POP-UP? Here's what to expect:
We're thrilled you'll be joining us! This event is a "mix-and-mingle" style event, a bit different from our "seated-dinner" style events.
The food will be served at self-serve food displays and will also be passed, beginning at 6:15pm. Seating is first-come-first-served so we encourage you to come at 6:00.
This event will be an indoor/outdoor event. There will be heaters outside, but please dress accordingly.
As a Pop-Up guest, you'll enjoy a 10% discount on any items purchased during the event.
